Becoming a mom comes with a lot of responsibilities and sways her away from the job she is in before mommyhood. Women who don’t have anyone at home to take care of their newborn in their absence, tend to take long breaks from their day jobs to stay at home and take care of the baby. A lot of moms enter into the world of blogging and are known as mommy bloggers.
It’s exciting to be a mommy blogger because you get to share each and every story of your life as a mom and help other moms on the way.
Now let me tell you that blogging while your little one is pooping and peeing around, is a difficult task. Then the question is how are so many women doing it, and how are they doing it so well?
Before even starting the mom blog, you should not just start writing anything and posting your personal pictures. Do some research at your personal level and then start. For this basic you can start like this:
Ask your mommy friends
Call or ping other moms in your friend circle and discuss their problems while handling their kid. Don’t hesitate in calling up your mom and her friends and asking the same question. You’ll get great insights like what is something these women need an answer for, what was something unique they did when they were in the new mom phase.
This exercise can continue even when you will create a mom blog for yourself.
Use social media
Observe all the new mom’s profile for how they are excited about mommyhood and the kids. Then go on to join facebook groups of new mom’s. Start contributing there. Share your ideas, excitement, and problems in the group. See when other women are responding and on what kind of talks they are commenting.
You can join a lot of such online forums where you can do the same practice and see the results.
Decide what you’ll blog about
Your research has given you a lot of options to blog about. You can decide according to what you can deliver the best. You can talk about everything in the stages of a child’s growing years. You can we write about healthy food habits, exercises, mother care, and whatever.
Parenting is in itself a niche but if you bring it down to even one particular theme and create all your posts around it, you will be able to create an authority in that niche.
List your unique offerings
In the ocean of mom blogs, you have to swim well. You will have to think about all the possible ways that you can build your blog into an extraordinary source of information. Helpful parenting tips, write books on parenting and sell on the blog, special section for parenting tips for toddlers, write for single parents and their struggles,
Make a section for strong moms and call it ‘Scary Mommy’! Kiddin’… 😉
But, why not, parental guidance can be done in any form. Write downloadable ebooks, bedtime stories for kids, unique craft ideas involving your kids, toddler dresses, and a lot more. You can use your mom blog to do extra things like these which will serve an extra income for you. Let’s keep this for a later blog article.
Now, when you start your blog, take care of these things as well:
Don’t bring personal issues to the blog
Yes, you have to share your own experiences as a mom on your blog, but do not do the mistake of bringing up every single personal matter with your husband online that could turn the tables for your marital life. You’re matured enough to understand what to share and what not.
Instead of sharing all the little problems you have with your toddler, you can write things for the reader moms and state examples.
Who should you write for
This totally depends upon the content stories you have to share. If you’re writing about pregnancy and relationships, your audience will be married couples. If you’re writing about newborn baby’s food and other requirements, your audience will be new moms, and so on.
So, you should be clear with your audience in terms of age, location, marital status, number of children, relationship etc
This will help you in deciding the tone of your writings, appropriate examples and other products and offerings on your blog.
When you are done with your basics, you can go on to have your own blog. It’s a procedure and anyone even without technical knowledge can create a mom blog. It’s easy. To know the complete procedure of creating a blog, check in here.
