There is no girl in the world who doesn’t want to win a beauty pageant. Every girl practices answering the jury’s questions, how to walk the ramp and imitates the epic winning-a-beauty-pageant reaction. We all know that winning the Miss India pageant has since always been the gentleman who opens the door to the journey of Bollywood for every winner. This time, Amruta Patki and Gul Panag (both Miss India) joined their hands.. Err.. Wings.. As both of them became licensed pilots of private planes.
The actress who appeared in Hindi and Marathi movies completed her three-month long pilot training course and received her student’s pilot license. It ain’t as easy as it sounds, she narrated her thrilling experience to Vagabomb:
When you do something like this, it’s like winning a lifetime achievement award. The adrenaline rush, the high, the way you feel when you wear that uniform, it’s amazing and precious. It’s a very, very long process – 40 hours of flying and three months of ground training (are required). But, if you have the passion for it, you go for it.
No wonder that’s true. Flying a plane isn’t less than getting your own wings. 😀
A bunch of us were sitting and talking about it, and a friend said, ‘let’s join The Bombay Flying Club,’ and I said ‘okay, let’s do it.’ I was the only one who ended up joining the course, and it was amazing. After almost nine years of finishing college, suddenly studying basics of science, maths, meteorology, and engineering is not easy at all.
The 2006 Miss India title-holder recently welcomed her co-pilot Gul Panag. These Miss India title-holders are giving us some awesome goals. What are you waiting for girls? Follow your dreams, work hard. 😀
