Do we all know the meaning of Feminism? Just because the word has been associated with women rights it has nothing to do with women alone. Yes, meaning of feminism is the belief that women should be allowed the same rights, power, and opportunities as men and be treated in the same way, or the set of activities intended to achieve this state.
Feminism does not mean that we overlook the rights of men or put women up on a pedestal. We have always tried to bring women at par with men so that they can enjoy the rights that have been with men for long but that does not mean that it should become a competition. We all belong to the same race; we were made this way to coexist not to fight with each other.
Why can’t males and females be at the same level and help each other?
In the aim of bringing women at par with men we have made it our goal that women come across as superior while it should be that hands should be extended from each side and help each other to come at same level. Because only when both will be at equal positions then they would be able to see each other’s worlds and would be able to understand each other’s point of view. This would bring about the necessary changes in the mindset that men are not willing to help women to reach this level. Both, men and women, have been trying for long now that this country sees that equality.
This won’t be encountered till the day we start helping each other. It is not the responsibility of some people but everyone who is a part of this world. We all can help in some or the other way and foremost what we can do is spread the message that women and men are not opponents. This feminism has brought about certain changes in the thought process of people; we have started to be a little biased towards females which have brought about some anger in males.
Why does it Happen?
This fight started when we wanted equal rights for women and now when we have reached that place where women can stand at par with men, so why stretch this in such a way that a time would come where we would have to fight for rights for men. This would again begin that rush of movements and everything, and nothing concrete would be achieved.
Why can’t we just help each other wherever we lack in spite of the differences that we possess? Why can’t we understand that these differences make us who we are and there is no one who is superior? We all stand same in front of Him.
We should just try to eradicate the differences in the mind-sets. When these will cease to exist then automatically men and women would become equal in the true sense. We just need to take this step so that the future generations only get to read about these.
“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” – Warren Buffet.
We all should try and plant this tree of mindset equality.
